What to have ready before you call

How to compare septic quotes

Make every bid itemise the same four things: tank size and material, absorption area in square feet, system type, and who pulls the permit. Checking a contractor properly

• Licence for onsite/septic work in your state — most states license installers separately from general contractors, and your state page names the licensing agency.
• Liability insurance, confirmed in writing.
• Local references from the last year — soil is local, and a contractor who works your county knows what the inspector wants to see.
• Who attends the inspection: the installer should be on site when the health department sees the open trenches.
